Linux (Ubuntu 2310) drops very nicely into old Macs (iMac, Macbook Pro).
Have not tried that with a locked Mac. Will a locked Mac take a Linux install?

After you follow the steps in the video, the iCloud lock will be removed then you can install Linux like you'd normally do.
In general Linux will work on non-silicon Macs, i.e. Intel Macs, but not M1, M2, etc.
